The SAIPA AssetSure motor section lists the following additional excesses applicable in the event of a motor claim ,where a driver who is under 25 years of age or older than 75 years of age or had a valid driver’s licence for less than 2 years:
Drivers under 25 years or over 75 years, Additional 5{f92ed3c07130d1d1f7afdfa9419415a96097991b3cd0130fcc5c47b28583da4c} of claim minimum R1, 000.00
License held for less than 2 years, Additional 5{f92ed3c07130d1d1f7afdfa9419415a96097991b3cd0130fcc5c47b28583da4c} of Claim minimum R1, 000.00
When reviewing motor claims stats over the last three years insurers note the undermentioned accidents reported for incidents that occurred for drivers under 25 years of age or held a licence for less than 2 years.

With effect 01st May 2017, the abovementioned additional excesses will increase as follows:
Driver under 25 years or over 75 years, Additional 5{f92ed3c07130d1d1f7afdfa9419415a96097991b3cd0130fcc5c47b28583da4c} of claim minimum R5, 000.00
Licence held for less than 2 years, Additional 5{f92ed3c07130d1d1f7afdfa9419415a96097991b3cd0130fcc5c47b28583da4c} of claim minimum R5, 000.00
The reason for doing this is to protect the SAIPA AssetSure scheme and keep premiums and premium increases to a minimum. The amendment will take effect from the 1st May 2017.
