A Tribute to Madiba

It is with a heavy heart that I write this note of shared grief.

The world has lost a leader who changed the tides and ushered in a new way to fight against oppression, racism, discrimination, injustice and domination of one race over another. I walk with you and the world in this time of sorrow. I am always reminded that the leadership of this great leader TATA Madiba is accompanied by the actions of the many. On this day I recommit to be unwavering in the fight for justice.

I feel blessed to have been able to live at a time when I could breathe in the courage of a great man and be a member of the movement he led. Words will never be enough to take back his pain, but we owe him for what he stood for, let his legacy remain.

IMG_2237TATA Madiba was an inspiration to me and I will live and value his legacy of humility never forgetting his unique smile and dance. Halala Madiba Halala you freed us, free at last.

As we visited the residence of Madiba on the 13/12/13 to pay our last respects, we were overwhelmed with many different emotions, sadness, joy and peace being able to witness a nation standing together… both black and white…side by side…as one, left a feeling of great pride.

It is unbelievable that God created such an incredible being makes one realize that his struggle is the reason South Africa enjoys the freedoms and ideals we do today. We have learnt to be grateful for the little things, and not take our freedom for granted.

Rest in Peace until we meet again, I take comfort knowing however that your spirit lives beyond your grave. I lift you in prayer in the palms of my hands carrying you in my heart forever.
